Seville hosted Expo 1992 on the island of La Cartuja. The theme for the Expo was 'The Age of Discovery. Mostly dismantled or abandoned, some sections house research and development units. The main attraction is the theme park known as 'The Magic Island'. The surreal abandonment of the area and the juxtaposition of the theme park allows for a rich photographic exploration.
