Bio

I have worked as a photojournalist in Southern Africa, specialising in producing educational materials for governments and NGO's, including USAID, CAFOD and Christian Aid. I was also commissioned by the World Health Organisation and Food and Agricultre Organisation as a media consultant. During the 1980's I worked in community education in Handsworth (Birmingham, UK), motivating different community groups to produce images for themselves. This resulted in a number of international touring exhibitions. As a lecturer in photography for over 25 years, I have exhibited widely and have organised and run an exhibition stand at Focus on imaging (NEC), on an annual basis, until 2011. Currently I am involved in documenting the Birmingham cityscape, with reference to cultural identity. I completed an M.A. in Photographic Studies at the University of Derby in 1991.
